“Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord.” -Romans 12:19

This bible verse has been with me since the time when I was still a kid, when my parents’ scolding words of love were the only heartbreaking thing that I could ever hear, when waking up randomly at midnight was only for potty purposes, when being hurt just meant being bruised. But as the sun sets and as the sun rises, things become different, things become worse. The people of yesterday aren’t going to be the people of today; neither will they be the people of tomorrow. The people who used to think that your crayons were just few will be the people who will give false accusations about you. The people who used to say that you can’t play the game will be the people who will say that you can’t live the life. The people who used to give you bruises in the knees will be the people who will be giving you bruises in the heart.

Scary, isn’t it, how people will come and go, leaving a mark of pain and sorrow. Disappointing it is to admit that the people whom you trust will be the people whom you trusted. I’m not saying that evil is what the future holds but I’m just pointing out that things will not always be pleasing. There will always be a time wherein you will feel left out, abused, taken advantage, disrespected, annoyed, maltreated or even unworthy. But you know what you should do? Nothing. Nothing, in a way wherein you wouldn’t take revenge or curse the hell out of your trespassers. You should let it pass, like as if it was just a dirty wind. As long as you know that you’re not doing anything against what is written in the testaments, you have nothing to be afraid of. They may be armed with power, money and other alliances, but they still can’t beat you, for you have and you are with the Lord. God is the greatest armor, the greatest avenger. Nobody can bring you down, unless you allow them to.

I once said that I already had the verse with me when I was still a kid. Some may not know but I’m actually from Bicol. And we, the Bicolanos, are actually fond of saying: Dios Mabalos. Dios meaning God, Mabalos meaning revenge. We usually say that when we’re wishing someone a great life or whenever we see someone in sorrow. But that wouldn’t mean that God is fond of giving revenge. It only means that God only wants to give what is due to everyone and that He just wants to let us know that we are not alone. If life becomes too hard to stand, kneel. Sometimes, you just have to pray and let God know that you need help, and surely he will give what is just.

Bestfriend Vs. Crush (A request by Danica Viray) :)

Best friends. Halaaaa, patay tayo diyan! Ang hirap mabuhay pag ganun, no? MWAHEHEEZ. I mean hello crush lang yun di yun shota. =)) Pero how if seryosong crush? :)) Antaray kelangan may lista...First! Kaya mahalin natin ang ating mga kaibigan more than our lovers. Jusko. Bata bata pa natin. WAJEJE ANSAVEH TALAGA?! =)) Gumaganon! Anyway, stay happy!! Make the RIGHT decisions! ♥

Cause of Poverty

Have you ever thought how many people aren't able to eat 3 times a day? Are you aware of the fact that one child dies every 5 seconds as a result of hunger? Hunger, crimes, deaths.. all of them meet in just one root- POVERTY. This topic has never been pulled out of the trending social issues. But what could probably be the  cause of this? One factor is lack of will power or initiative. It's like a person has been given the opportunity to help himself but he chose not to do anything. Man is responsible for whatever he has now. Another factor is corruption. It's actually sad to know that corruption has been continuously present in our society. It's like as if it's been part of our culture, a cancer of the society that will never be healed. Corruption is also the reason why there are a lot of people who are wondering where they will get their food every day. Undeniably, no country has been free from this problem. This is why the gap between the rich and the poor is quite high and often widening. People are slaves of their power and money that's why injusticeness and inequality are very common nowadays. And the last factor is lack of education. This contradicts the first factor which is will power. You may have the initiative but not the knowledge. You're pretty much lucky if you have both, but it would be quite disappointing if you won't be able to use it well. Because of this, many people are unemployed because most available jobs are not appropriate for their knowledge or mind capacity. This call is for all of us, especially for us youth to start early and look forward to a better future.  We are given the choice to create our future. Let’s not waste it. Let’s make a difference. Let’s be instruments of change!

Importance of Education

Education refers to the process of learning and acquiring information. You see, education cannot only be a referred to as learning through school but also through our everyday experience. It is known as one of man’s basic needs and it’s pretty much obvious why. Education is important for 6 main reasons. First, education is important for knowledge gain where we learn basic and advanced life skills that can make one successful in the job market. Second is that when there is knowledge gain, one will be able to build up his own perspective in life. Third, it helps us build opinions and have our own points of view. Fourth, it also teaches us the right behavior, good manners, thus, making us civilized. Fifth, it also opens doors for career opportunities and the future of a nation is safe in the hands of educated individuals and; lastly, education is our path to success. That’s why as students, we need to prioritize our studies because through this, we will be able to have a good future.
And like what Martin Luther King said, Intelligence plus character- that is the goal of  true education.

Welcome to Facebook!

Everyday, after school, I usually do my assignments, take a nap or sometimes I log in to this website called FACEBOOK. But what's facebook? According to Wikipedia, Facebook is a social networking service wherein users may create a personal profile, add other users as friends, and exchange messages, including automatic notifications when they update their profile. According to some, Facebook is a way of expressing themselves and to say something about what they believe in. But if you'd ask me, facebook is just one of the websites I visit wherein it becomes easy for me to speak my mind, to show my skills and talents, to know more about my friends, and for easier communication with them. It allows people who probably never would have met each other in person to communicate, it creates new relationships and friendships, and it places distance between people who could communicate in person but instead choose to communicate online. It is just another element of society that is interested in sharing information with the intimacy of a close, personal relationship. At a glance, a user can learn everything from what gender a Facebook member is, to what religion they believe in, what school they attend, and their likes and dislikes, all in a few clicks. It gives you too much information about someone and that is what makes it dangerous. Yes, everything is easy because of facebook but just like everything, especially to products of technology, it has its own disadvantage. First of all, it can easily transfer virus to your computer by just clicking a fake advertisment or post. An innocent child can easily see a pornographic photo because of a careless adult. A person with a bad intention can easily stalk someone and pose as that person just to destroy the reputation of the person. The facebook users have lesser privacy because of the posts he/she makes. And so for our own safety, we should be careful of what we post and of what we share to our facebook friends. We shouldn't easily meet up with, talk to, and most importantly, we shouldn't give information to a stranger or even to a new or not that close facebook friend. We shouldn't be into much publicity for us to stay safe. And let us all remember that there’s more to life outside facebook, where we personally know our friends that we tag along, where we can easily say if we like or dislike something..where we can comment just about anything! So now, what’s on your mind?
